Install and choose a style

Tumble has three styles. Each has its own colors, fonts, card shapes and home page:

• Tumble: playful sticker cards, made for pet supplies.
• Kettle: serif headings and soft shadows, made for home and kitchen shops.
• Linen: calm and minimal, made for lifestyle and fashion brands.

1. Choose a style on Tumble's Shopify Theme Store page, then select Try theme or Buy theme.
2. Tumble is added to Online Store, Themes in your Shopify admin.
3. Select Customize to open the theme editor, add your logo and content, then Publish when you're ready.

To try a different style later, add Tumble again from the Theme Store with that style. Your current theme stays as it is.

Logo, colors and fonts

Open Theme settings in the theme editor.

• Logo and favicon: upload your logo and set its width for desktop and mobile. Logos of any shape work.
• Colors: Tumble has seven color schemes. Each section has a Color scheme setting, so changing a scheme updates every section that uses it. Badge colors are set here too.
• Typography: pick fonts for headings and body text from Shopify's font library, and set sizes and letter spacing.
• Shape and depth and Buttons: corner radius, border thickness, shadows and button shape.

Header and navigation

• The header uses your Main menu (Online Store, Navigation). Add a second level of links for a dropdown.
• Add a third level of links to turn a dropdown into a mega menu. The header's Mega menu promotion settings add an image, caption and link to the first menu item's mega menu.
• The account button appears when customer accounts are turned on (Settings, Customer accounts). It uses Shopify's account menu, which you can edit under Navigation as Customer account main menu.
• Stay at the top when scrolling keeps the header visible as customers scroll.

Product pages

The Product information section is built from blocks you can reorder: badges, title, vendor, price, SKU, text, Variant picker and buy buttons, Inventory status, Service highlights, description, Collapsible tab and Custom Liquid. Apps can add their own blocks too.

• Badges: sale and sold out badges are automatic. For your own badge, add a product tag like badge:New, and the text after the colon becomes the badge.
• Inventory status uses your real Shopify inventory. Set Show "low stock" at or below to choose when the low stock message appears. Tumble never shows made-up stock counts.
• Variant pictures: assign an image to each variant in the product admin and Tumble switches to it when a customer picks that option. If your options use Shopify's color swatches, the picker shows them.
• Card feature points (optional): create a product metafield custom.card_points (list of single line text) to show short points on product cards when Show feature points is on.
• Specifications (optional): create a product metafield custom.specifications (multi-line text, one "Name: value" per line) and choose it in a Collapsible tab.
• Local pickup shows under the buy buttons when you offer pickup (Settings, Shipping and delivery). Shop Pay Installments appears when it's turned on in your payment settings.

Collections, filters and search

• Filters come from Shopify's free Search & Discovery app. Install it and choose filters such as availability, price, product type, vendor and options. The Product grid section's Filters setting controls where they show.
• The Product grid section also sets products per page, columns on desktop and mobile, and the collection banner.
• Search suggests products as customers type. Turn this off with Show suggestions while typing in Theme settings, Search.

Cart

• In Theme settings, Cart, When a product is added chooses between opening the cart drawer and going to the cart page.
• Enable order notes lets customers leave a note. Message under the cart total is a good place for delivery or returns information.
• Discounts, subscriptions and unit prices are shown automatically, and express checkout buttons appear on the cart and product pages when your payment settings allow them.

Selling in other countries and languages

When you sell in more than one market or language (Settings, Markets and Languages), the footer shows country and language selectors. Turn them off with Show country and language selectors in the Footer section.

Footer

• Add blocks for menus, text, an email signup and social links. Social links come from Theme settings, Social media.
• Email signups are added to your customer list with the tag "newsletter".
• Show Follow on Shop button lets customers follow your store in the Shop app. It appears when Shop Pay is set up and following is turned on in Shopify.
• Show payment icons shows the payment methods your store accepts.

Accessibility

Tumble works with a keyboard and screen readers, keeps focus visible, and every color pair in each style passes WCAG AA contrast. To keep your store accessible, add alt text to images, write clear link and button labels, and check contrast if you change colors.

Updating Tumble

When a new version is released, Shopify shows an update notice in your theme library. Updating adds a new copy of the theme with your settings and content. Code you changed yourself isn't carried over, so keep a note of any changes and redo them in the new copy.

• Your Shopify account, billing, payments or domains. Shopify Support handles those.

We reply within two business days, Monday to Friday (UK time), not counting UK public holidays.

Before you edit theme code

Always duplicate your theme first (Online Store, Themes, then Duplicate in the theme's menu). We can't support code that has been changed. For custom work, consider hiring a Shopify Partner.
